Role Summary/Purpose: The Lead Systems Engineer will be a self-driven systems engineer responsible for leading the design team in collection of VOC (Open Circuit Voltage) and implementation into sub-system and component specifications. You will be experienced enough to immediately add value by identifying problems with the existing system design and add a fresh perspective to our existing understanding.
Essential Responsibilities: As the Lead Systems Engineer, you will participate in whiteboard discussion, record into documentation a joint teaching-learning scenario travel to battery suppliers and end customers in Asia, Europe, and North America, and identify / resolve system level problems, requirement management / allocation, and system design generation.


In addition, you will:


  • Direct customer and battery supplier interactions
  • Collect, manage, allocate, and communicate requirements
  • Conduct / implement system problem management and solutions
  • Lead a matrixed team
  • Analyze time dependent and parametric data
  • Determine and document desired system behavior discussion
  • Document technical data generated by the assigned project consistent with engineering policies and procedures
  • Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments
  • Participate on teams assigned to address organizational initiatives and generic issues
  • Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews
  • Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Controls, or Electrical Engineering or Science
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with energy storage, renewable energy, or commercial load center system design and product release

    ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT:

  • Ability and willingness to travel 25% to supplier and customer sites around the globe, as required
  • Additional Eligibility Qualifications: GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening. Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen.
    Desired Characteristics:
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in Grid Connected Energy Storage System
  • Manufacturing of LiIon battery cells, modules, and systems
  • LiIon, other battery, or fuel cell electro-chemical engineering
  • Six Sigma Green or Black Belt or equivalent problem solving expertise
  • Thrives in management of multiple projects in unpredictable and hectic environments
  • Emotionally intelligent, peer respected, contributor and leader
  • Capable of independent judgment in a changing environment
  • Learn by doing, reading, and discussion
  • Familiar with IEEE (Institute of Electrical & Electronic Engineers), IBC (International Building Code), IEC (International Building Code), CEI (Consumer Equity Index), UL (Underwriters' Laboratories), ANSI (American National Standards Institute), JAEC, KOR guidelines and standards
  • Capable of performing simple thermodynamic and dynamic calculations
  • Demonstrated leadership skills in a cross-functional environment
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
