Role Summary/Purpose: | |
Essential Responsibilities: | - Support Certification programs - Interpret Code/Standard Requirements from EU Directives and Normative Standards and make practical application to equipment designs - Work with CoE’s to create product compliance evaluations for NPI’s - Liaise with Engineering/Services/Sourcing/Suppliers to ensure proper communication and fulfillment of compliance requirements in a timely and cost effective manner - Provide technical assistance/be responsible for agency liaison interface for compliance issues during product development - Interface with all impacted system owners, suppliers to ensure successful overall compliance integration - Assist in resolving manufacturing, design and field problems for compliance issues - Documentation control of compliance plans and final certification (DoC process implementation) - Develop new processes required for executing compliance requirements - Develop clear compliance guides/input for design practices - Generate and maintain compliance reports - Perform Physical and “desk-top” inspections of WTG and related systems. |
Qualifications/Requirements: | - Proven ability to work with manufacturing and expediently resolve technical issues - Knowledge of certification guidelines - Understanding of European Directives/Normative Standards as applied to WTG's - German and English language capacity |

Desired Characteristics: | - Prior work with Compliance Agencies / Notified Bodies - Knowledge of GE internal tools - DWB, WelcomeHome, eDRB, Oracle, etc. - Some prior experience in the Wind Turbine engineering Industry - Team player and ability to self-direct - Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing. - Demonstrated design creativity and problem solving capabilities. - Ability to demonstrate Influencing skills and Leadership skills. - Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering GENERAL: - Some minimal travel will be required in this role - Site travel, supplier travel, GE manufacturing facility travel, Certification agency travel - Anticipated to be no more than 5%-10% |
