The Field Test Engineer will be responsible to plan, execute, and document results of tests conducted on engines installed on customer sites in support of product development programs on gaseous fueled, industrial engines.
Essential Responsibilities: In addition you will:

  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to plan and execute field validation tests on customer sites involving components, sub-systems, and complete engines
  • Collect, analyze, and document test results in technical reports and present findings in technical reviews and forums
  • Troubleshoot engine and electrical systems on customer site installations
  • Participate on technical and cross-functional teams to meet program and business objectives
  • Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working in a technical role with specific background involving reciprocating engines

    Eligibility Requirements:

  • Ability and willingness to travel both domestically and internationally
  • Additional Eligibility Qualifications: GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening. Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen.
    Desired Characteristics:
  • Engineering Degree from an accredited college or univeristy with course work involving internal combustion engines, controls, and electrical systems
  • Minimum 5 years technical experience in a customer service or product development environment with industrial engines, engine testing, controls, and electrical systems
  • Proficient in use of measurement systems, data analysis, technical report writing
  • Proficient in troubleshooting engine, controls, and electrical system issues and utilizing associated robust processes and tools
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Organizational skills to manage multiple projects and/or activities
