Role Summary/Purpose: The Intern will be responsible for assisting senior Principal Engineers- Mechanical in researching solutions and developing standards for systemic design issues. They will also participate in and help facilitate Hazop design reviews and productivity tool development.
Essential Responsibilities: Specific responsibilities include:


  • Technical issue resolution thorough troubleshooting, design reviews, product testing, industry research, etc. Development of documented design guides and standards.
  • Become proficient with safety issue tracking software under the guidance of the Safety Coordinator and participate in/facilitate Hazop design reviews.
  • Become familiar with International Export Control Laws and participate in the development of processes and procedures within GE to ensure compliance in Engineering. Procurement and Shipping.
  • Participate in the development of productivity collaboration tools through surveys, development of workflows,
  • Manage the Principal Engineering website to raise the profile and usefulness of the documents stored therein.
  • Qualifications/Requirements: In year 3 or 4 of a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering or other related technical discipline.
