Essential Responsibilities: | In this poistion, the individual will be exposed to all aspects of Gas Turbine (GT) Control system – application software, controls hardware and networking. The successful individual in this position will understand the entire control system as well as the fundamentals of GT Operations and how those fundamentals interact with the control system to deliver optimum value to the customer. The position will also offer opportunities to directly interface with customers and commercial GE entities. Working with experienced engineers, the successful candidate will utilize their problem-solving, technical and interpersonal skills to: (i) Execute Gas Turbine (GT) Application Software upgrade & Controls Panel Upgrades (Mark*V/Mark*VI/Mark*Vie) control systems by developing and applying advanced control technologies to Gas turbine Applications in Customized modifications & upgrades (CM&U) or Aftermarket environment (ii) Write, test and develop requirements for GT application code (iii) Provide Start Up, Commissioning, Trouble Shooting Support for Power Plant Control Systems on Mark* HW & SW applications (iv) Conduct SW/HW FAT with Customers to demonstrate & validate Controls Functionality (v) Define and continuously improve methodologies for developing and testing control systems (vi) Develop new control technologies into packaged product offerings (vii) Support site installations with occasional travel to customer sites (viii) Lead projects with ultimate responsibility for quality and schedule metrics |
Qualifications/Requirements: | BE / B Tech – Electrical/Electronics /Controls & Instrumentation 3 -5 years of Industrial control experience preferably in control systems for power plants Knowledge of GE-Gas Turbine Controls and operational philosophy for different GE – GT Frames with Prior hands on experience on GE Gas Turbine controls would be a distinct advantage Knowledge on Gas Turbine Applications, Application SW concepts, PLC/DCS Engineering Hands on experience in Installation/Commissioning/Maintenance of Control Systems, HMI and Networking Familiar with Easy 5 Simulations / Artemis to validate the functionality of Application Software Conversant with HMI and networking with control Systems and third party devices Proven oral and written communication skills Ability to independently drive projects to completion Willingness to be challenged and learn new technologies and skills |
