Role Summary/Purpose: The Power Generation Products Engineering – Financial Analyst will be a key member of the Finance Team that supports the global engineering operations for GE Power Generation Products (PGP). PGP Engineering Finance Team serves as a strategic business partner to the Engineering VP, managing a $
0.5 billion annual global engineering spend, providing financial planning, forecasting and controllership.
Essential Responsibilities: In addition you will:

  • Provide financial support & management for 2500+ engineers across PowerGen Products teams
  • Work closely with Engineering, Operations and Finance teams to establish operating plans and support both internal and external reporting requirements
  • Be a key partner to the respective General Managers / Operational Leaders in order to meet functional budget and headcount commitments
  • Develop new tools and processes that assist in driving consistency, simplification, and enable Engineering team to deliver on financial and operational commitments
  • Drive financial rigor through monthly Financial Reviews and Risk & Opportunity (R&O) assessments; presenting results to Senior Leadership and the Operating Teams .
  • Lead the forecasting, analysis, and R&Os of functional budgets and program initiatives.
  • Perform monthly / quarterly closing activities: P&L cost, functional cost, balance sheet analysis, account reconciliations
  • Focus on driving cost out initiatives & process simplifications to reduce overall engineering rate.
  • Drive cost management rigor focused on the process for external purchases and program tracking; provide monthly tracking reports to the General Managers
  • Provide financial leadership for Engineering strategic business forecasting (SII, operating plans, and BPs)


    This role will provide a great opportunity to see how GE is investing in the future via GE Power & Water. It will expose the individual to global engineering and technology centers as well as the Finance, Technology & Operational leadership of multiple P&Ls. The cross-functional exposure in a matrix organization will also prepare the person for greater Finance and Operational Leadership roles.

  • Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting or business related discipline from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in financial roles
