Role Summary/Purpose: The Manufacturing Engineering Manager will be a key leader within the GE Power and Water, Analytical Instruments business. Approximately 23-30 employees will report to this role, and the scope is global, within the GE Supply Chain function. The position will be located in the Boulder, Colorado area.
Essential Responsibilities: The Manufacturing Engineering Manager will demonstrate accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives with a global scope. In this role, you will integrate and develop engineering and supply chain processes that meet business needs across the global organization, manage complex issues within functional areas of expertise, be involved in long-term planning, and contribute to the overall business strategy.

In addition, you will:

  • Execute the analysis / evaluation of assigned projects that meet business standards, practices and procedures and the product / program requirements and recommend actions
  • Lead the shop ops team for Consumables to meet daily and monthly production requirements for quality and delivery
  • Lead the shipping team to ensure delivery performance, compliance with hazardous materials shipment requirements, domestic and international logistic regulations
  • Develop departmental goals and budgets
  • Conduct personnel reviews and other supervisory activity for all Manufacturing Engineering / Consumables / Shipping personnel
  • Formulate and implement plans to achieve technical requirements, schedule and contract commitments
  • Develop action plans to anticipate and respond to engineering problems and increasing production demands
  • Provide technical guidance to other personnel and assigned teams and mentor others in the organization
  • Ensure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures
  • Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews
  • Lead special projects as directed by work requests from Engineering or Project Management, which may cover technical advances in producibility / capability studies
  • Effectively integrate new concepts that can aid in the assignment of both equipment hardware and software as related to computer build technology, advanced process capability and material handling concepts
  • Communicate with Design, Quality, Production Engineering, and Project Management on technical state of each assigned program on a periodic basis
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, with all aspects of safety on the job and comply with all GE Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) policies
  • Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering or technical field from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum of 10 years of engineering and shop ops experience with a focus on the development of solutions that meet technical, production and program requirements
