Role Summary/Purpose: Highly motivated self-driven researcher to work in the area of power electronics design, HVDC, low frequency AC transmission, and electric machine drives.
Essential Responsibilities: Conduct research in the field of power electronics design, power conversion & control, onshore & offshore power systems applications, grid integration of renewable energy technologies such as wind and solar. The candidate will get an opportunity to apply his / her educational training towards developing new concepts / formulations, analysis / modeling, and advanced solutions for electric power generation, transmission, and distribution. The candidate has to be self-motivated, creative and a team player, with ability to come up with unique solutions to complex problems.
Qualifications/Requirements: - In depth knowledge of power electronics, power system analytics & control, including network modeling, protection, power system dynamics, drives, etc.
- Experience with power electronics and power system simulation tools for electromagnetic transients and stability analysis, such as SABER, PLECS, PSPICE, PSCAD / ATP, and general analytical tools such as MATLAB/Simulink is mandatory.
- Fluency in English.
- Fluency in Portuguese.

Desired Characteristics: - Doctorate Diploma in Electrical Engineering. - Strong Innovation/publication track record. - Industry experience. - Experience with electric machines design.
