Role Summary/Purpose: The North America Engineering team is a part of PGS Customer Engineering. The Engineer – North America PAC will provide front line technical issue resolution for PGS North America and their customers. The charter is to resolve technical issues submitted by GE service representatives, usually through the Power Answer Center (PAC). This role will support the safe, reliable and productive operation of Gas Turbines, Steam Turbines, Generators and their associated equipment.
Essential Responsibilities: In addition you will:

  • Develop expertise in GE products and internal systems of record to gather and analyze relevant information on a broad range of issues
  • Inclusively collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Service teams to develop and document technical resolution
  • Join an inclusive community of experts that are charged with sharing technical knowledge with their global engineering and operations teams through the use of internal knowledge management systems and tools
  • Monitor, prioritize, develop and document technical resolution of North America PAC cases
  • Provide engineering support for key safety events, forced outages, customer issue escalations, and field technical support inquiries (PAC) within the region
  • Assist RCA team for regional events
  • Partner with Product Service and Application Engineering teams to recommend corrective actions and improvements into region units
  • Develop and maintain working relationships with key engineering resources in your area of expertise
  • Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree of Science in Engineering from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Thermal Power Plant field service, customer support, design or operations & maintenance

    Eligibility Requirements:

  • Ability and willingness to cover periodic, scheduled off hours duty is required (evenings or weekends)
  • Additional Eligibility Qualifications: GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening. Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen.
