Role Summary/Purpose: The Lead Automation Engineer, Steam Path Components will be required to develop & support UG & Physics based design tools for Steam Path Components focusing on engineering productivity, quality & on time delivery; and product cycle & cost reduction. The position entails close collaboration with design, drafting, & manufacturing teams.
Essential Responsibilities: In addition you will:

  • Work closely with the design community to identify business needs, create a problem statement, & develop functional specs
  • Develop implementation strategy: selection of the right technology & platform in sync with GE standards & guidelines.
  • Implement, test & validate the solution
  • Manage the deployment & training in the user community
  • Be responsible for Project Management including communication & reviews with the leadership & the project team
  • Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in software development
  • Minimum of 1 years of project management experience
  • Additional Eligibility Qualifications: GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening. Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen.
    Desired Characteristics:
  • Computer Science, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering degree; Master's degree or higher from an accredited college or university
  • Software development experience focused on physics-based analysis, geometry modeling, and finite element methods
  • In-depth knowledge of CAD and CAE tools such as Unigraphics NX and ANSYS etc.
  • Expertise in computer programming & familiarity with software engineering concepts & practices
  • Fluency in Fortran, C / C++, & Python
  • Working knowledge of Solaris & Unix Operating Systems
  • Knowledge of solid modeling & computational geometry
  • Knowledge of Steam Turbine Product
  • Strong communication & leadership skills. The job will require interactions with cross -functional teams in matrix organization across global sites.
  • Computer Science or Information Systems degree in addition to Engineering degree from an accredited college or university
