Role Summary/Purpose: The RTCoE Gas Turbine Combustion Repair Engineer will be responsible for identifying, developing and industrializing inspection and repair processes for combustion hardware, with a focus on improving the productivity of F-Class combustion systems.
Essential Responsibilities: In addition they will:

  • Lead repair development for combustion systems, review & approve Service Center Qualification Substantiations, & work with global repair service centers to industrialize repairs & drive continuous improvement of repair quality, cycle, cost, & safety
  • Create Repair Engineering Instructions for assigned components
  • Substantiate service centers repair process qualifications
  • Interface with design engineering and Lead design reviews for repairs
  • Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements
  • Provide technical leadership to personnel supporting the assigned project
  • Document technical data generated by the assigned project consistent with engineering policies and procedures
  • Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments
  • Support repair related readiness to serve for global service centers
  • Lead repair productivity projects
  • Participate on teams assigned to address organizational initiatives and generic issues
  • Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews
  • Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Materials Engineering, Materials Science, or related engineering field of study from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum of 3 years of engineering experience
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working in, with, and/or supporting a manufacturing environment

    Eligibility Requirements:

  • Ability and willingness to travel to repair centers, customer sites, and other locations as needed globally (~15%)
  • Additional Eligibility Qualifications: GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening. Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen.
