Role Summary/Purpose: In this role, you will:
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Manage supplier activities to ensure the quality of assigned Gas Turbine components
  • Be the technical focal point to coordinate Sourcing, Design & Materials Engineering functions while interfacing with suppliers
  • Drive consistency and adherence to quality procedures and specification requirements
  • Manage supplier qualifications as required assuring that assigned suppliers have capability and processes to deliver high quality product
  • Conduct surveillance audits to assure that Suppliers have effective process control, rigorous product acceptance standards, and robust quality systems
  • Provide technical guidance to suppliers to assure product / process compliance with engineering drawings and specifications
  • Drive continuous improvement of supplier's quality, cycle, and delivery performance
  • Manage supplier non-conformance and SDR activities; identify and drive process improvement, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation
  • Conduct process capability analysis for Critical to Quality (CTQ) characteristics; work with suppliers to improve process capability
  • Work closely with commercial, engineering and manufacturing teams to eliminate any barriers that may affect the quality and delivery of sourced components
  • Support Sourcing Quality and DMP initiatives
  • Provide Sourcing Quality input to Engineering during product design reviews
  • Coach Lead Supplier Quality Engineers
  • Lead cross functional initiatives to improve part quality
  • Support critical issues owned by less experienced SQEs as needed
  • Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum of 5 years of sourcing or supply chain experience

    ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to travel both domestically and internationally, as required
  • Additional Eligibility Qualifications: GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening. Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen.
    Desired Characteristics:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Metallurgical Engineering / Advanced Technical Degree from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Supply Chain, Supplier Quality or Engineering
  • Demonstrated technical aptitude and a passion for quality
  • Strong background in interpretation of Engineering drawings / specifications, metrology, and manufacturing process planning / evaluation
  • Related Power Generation manufacturing experience
  • Demonstrated proactive approach and issue ownership with process orientation
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in cross-functional and global team environments
  • Highly self-motivated
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Six Sigma trained and certified or equivalent Quality certification
  • NDT certification
