Role Summary/Purpose: | The Solar Sales Director will lead the solar sales efforts and work cooperatively with the GE Sales teams to achieve sales goals for business. In this role, you will lead and define customer strategies, build customer relationships to maximize sales, and coordinate with support organizations as necessary. |
Essential Responsibilities: | In addition you will:
Provide direct Sales and account management for defined key customers in assigned territories selling solar turnkey EPC solutions, Solar Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), and GE Capital Solar Leases Be responsible for Financial objectives that will be quarterly based on: Orders/Sales Growth and Profitability Strategic objectives will include; Increased market penetration, development of sales literature and tools; Competitive information and strategic recommendations, Customer satisfaction, and GE cross business interactions Grow revenues by identifying additional business opportunities Manage the Inquiry to Order (ITO) process with customers and be accountable for order pricing / profitability, risk, terms and condition, services, and customer satisfaction Work with utility officials, Independent System Operators (ISOs), industry and renewable energy associations to influence legislation and drive power generation growth for GE Participate / Present at Industry Events & Seminars to represent and promote GE Renewables Integrate activities with GE Renewables team as well as other GE businesses to leverage full sales and services capabilities Drive customer engagement from initial meetings, conceptual pitches to firm contracts, and contract signatures championing the GE Solar business and the responsibilities of the GE brand Target turnkey development and customer sited PV projects greater than 300kw (per) with 20%+ contribution margin at completion Develop influential relationships with target customers / suppliers at all levels, understand decision-making processes, and develop strategies to win profitable business from those customers Maintain knowledge of solar market trends, customer requirements, competitor actions, and customer base Work with Global Sales Director and Business Leader to develop new products and services for business growth |
Qualifications/Requirements: | Bachelor's Degree from accredited College or University Minimum of 5 year experience associated with solar or other power generation products in sales, application engineering and/or marketing

Demonstrated accomplishments in customer-focused problem solving
Self-directed, highly detail-oriented, organized, and flexible
Strong oral and written communication skills
Ability to energize teams through inclusiveness and connection with people
Accomplishments that reflect leadership, teamwork, integrity, and accountability
Proven experience in new product introduction and market development
Strong understanding of solar market and technology
Sales / Commercial experience with a solid track record
