Role Summary/Purpose: The Steam Turbine Project Engineer is the primary technical interface to the customer during project execution and fulfillment. Their top priority is technical support that allows for the successful procurement, assembly, and installation of power generation equipment.
Essential Responsibilities: In addition, you will:


  • Provide the technical interface for steam turbine and support systems to customers and/or their assigned EPC including support at design meetings and other information requests while maintaining a high level of business acumen
  • Provide technical mentoring and guidance to engineering peers
  • Analyze contract documents and requirements on assigned projects and facilitate the design, manufacturing & sourcing functions to ensure all deliverables are fulfilled
  • Support the steam turbine design teams and project management on customer and technical requirements
  • Evaluate design, financial and schedule impact of changes to contract technical and/or scope requirements
  • Establish, monitor and facilitate hardware and software schedules and deliverables
  • Actively support GE productivity and quality initiatives
  • Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited College or University
  • Minimum of 5 years power generation experience in Design Engineering or Field Engineering or a related field

    ELIGIBILTIY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability and willingness to travel, Domestically and internationally, as required
  • Additional Eligibility Qualifications: GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening. Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen.
    Desired Characteristics:
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in steam turbine system operation, design or maintenance
  • Advanced Degree in Engineering from an accredited College or University
  • Knowledge of project management processes and skills
  • Understanding of Technical Regulations & Standards fundamentals
  • Ability to influence and gain commitment at all levels of the organization
  • Strong business acumen coupled with technical knowledge (field and factory)
  • Knowledgeable of power plants, controls and steam turbine support equipment
  • Proven ability to work in a matrix environment
  • Familiarity with PLM
  • Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks effectively
  • Broad business perspective and strong results orientation.
