Role Summary/Purpose: Build heat transfer, SF & CFD expertise and independently execute NPI/NTI/research projects for a range of GE gas turbine products. The candidate will also be responsible for in-depth interpretation of analysis results and preparation for design reviews with clear conclusions and recommendations. Strong interactions with global team to execute programs, deliver the analysis results, on time delivery with superior quality. Interface and integrate with other technology teams and drive programs.
Essential Responsibilities: GE Power & Water Heat Transfer team at BEC supports design development and testing of gas turbines components. The primary responsibilities of Lead Engineer are:

- Independently execute heat transfer, flow system design, analysis of flange-to-flange stationary & rotating components for various gas turbine engines using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures and product requirement.

- Work with global mechanical, performance, and aerodynamics teams through tollgate design process to achieve timely and accurate design solutions.

- Document technical data generated by the assigned project consistent with engineering policies and procedures.

- Mind set of ownership and accountability to achieve goals.

- Interpret the analysis results, suggest and generate the ideas to improve the design.

- Coordinating design activities towards achieving a technical goal.

- Help and provide necessary support to new engineers in tools and analysis process.

- Rigorously apply DFSS, Fast Works, and Simplification methodology to all work effort and improve current product and processes.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- M. Tech./ M. E./B.E. in mechanical engineering with specialization in Thermal/ Aero/ Structures Design with excellent academic record.

- Minimum 5 Years of experience with heat transfer, secondary flows, Aerodynamics/CFD, mechanical analysis and design experience in any turbo machinery, boiler, heat exchanger, thermal power plant etc.

- Experience with P-Thermal, PATRAN, FLOW-THERM, ANSYS-THERMAL, HYPERMESH, ANSYS CFX, ICEMCFD, ANSYS.

- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- Must have excellent analytical and project execution skills.

- Must be able to work well in a global matrix organization.

- Six sigma (DFSS) Green Belt certification (internal).
