Role Summary/Purpose: The Lead Process Applications / Commercial Engineer for the Thermal Products Group will be responsible for coordinating and leading cross functional proposal teams supporting the breadth of projects across GEW&PT Engineered Systems - Thermal Products in Bellevue, WA. You will report to the Thermal Products Commercial Engineering Leader.
Essential Responsibilities: In addition, you will:

  • Coordinate functional teams to support bid specific process and commercial efforts
  • Plan, direct and coordinate activities related to the costing, engineering, commercial terms and conditions, and preparation of GEW&PT proposals
  • Work closely with the Commercial team, determine priorities and strategies, prepare schedules, and resource as necessary to complete proposals and to provide technical and costing support for commercial activities
  • Ensure proposals and offers of sale are prepared in accordance with the procedures and processes defined within the ITO Playbook, have clear scope definition, are costed accurately and have all required Process and OTR Engineering sign–offs
  • Ensure consistent use and adoption of tools and processes utilized within Thermal Products
  • Ensure the transfer, training and continuous improvement of key applications tools and designs for Thermal Products globally
  • Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Environmental Engineering from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum of 3 years of industrial / engineering experience
  • Additional Eligibility Qualifications: GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening. Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen.
    Desired Characteristics:
  • Experience with water and wastewater treatment including evaporator and crystallizer equipment / applications
  • Self-motivated, quick to deliver and a team player
  • Able to demonstrate effective problem solving skills and is an accomplished communicator
  • Master's Degree in Chemical Engineering from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum of 1 year of professional experience in a minimum of 1 of the following areas: heat transfer, kinetics, thermodynamics, mass transfer, and fluid flow characteristics
  • Six Sigma training or equivalent Quality training
  • Exposure to and participation in Lean Six Sigma initiatives or equivalent Quality initiatives
  • Familiarity with design, test and analysis tools and systems
  • Ability to lead teams
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
