Role Summary/Purpose: The Engineering Manager will be an integral part of the GE Renewables Engineering organization. Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager of the Wind Electrical Systems team, you will be a key person for driving successful NPI execution, fulfillment and field issue resolution. This position will build a main interface to related functions like Sourcing, Fleet Reliability Operations, Wind Systems, Supplier Quality, Configuration, ITO / OTR etc.
Essential Responsibilities: In addition, you will:

  • Provide technical leadership for a team of engineers for all product design aspects of the assigned system
  • Assure all component designs meet requirements
  • Support and coordinate with interfacing organizations such as manufacturing, sourcing, services, global engineering, ATO, and systems engineering
  • Support service programs, fulfillment, and New Product Introduction (NPI)
  • Provide strong guidance and contribution to DMP and design to cost projects
  • Communicate progress to all levels of the organization
  • Mentor and develop less experienced personnel
  • Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum of 5 years of electrical engineering experience
  • Ability and willingness to travel, as required

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Positive mindset with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional, global environment
  • Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university
  • Wind business experience
  • Green Belt, full time quality role experience or equivalent Quality training
  • Proven wind turbine product knowledge and responsibility
  • Possess a deep foundation in electrical systems
  • Strong analytical approach to problem solving
  • Demonstrated ability to document, plan, and execute multiple NPI program deliverables in parallel
