Role Summary/Purpose: The Liquid Combustion Design Engineer will develop designs of World-Class Gas Turbine Engine Combustion Systems considering durability, performance, operability and customer value in a team environment.
Essential Responsibilities: In addition you will:


  • Lead the design, testing, and analysis of advanced technology gas turbine combustion liquid systems considering cost, operability, reliability, and emissions
  • Innovatively solve liquid problems that drive best-in-the-world Green low-emissions performance while meeting durability and reliability challenges on 5 MW to 350MW gas turbine engines
  • Design combustion liquid systems to meet overall gas turbine product requirements
  • Develop solutions and communication with Product Definition Engineers
  • Utilize hand calculations, CFD, FEA, and test data to justify designs against acceptance criteria and present at design reviews
  • Conduct laboratory and field testing of combustion systems to validate performance
  • Coach and Mentor younger engineers
  • Interact with the global GE Combustion community to establish and communicate best practices and latest technical breakthroughs
  • Work with internal / external design and manufacturing teams to meet schedule and delivery high quality work
  • Effectively document and present results in formal and informal reviews
  • Protect the Intellectual Property rights of the Company
  • Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related Engineering discipline from an accredited College or University
  • Minimum of 10 years of combustion engineering aerothermal development experience that includes liquid fuel development

  • Strong computer skills using MS Office
  • Unigraphics (UG) CAD experience
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability and willingness to challenge status quo, without allegiance to past or current practices and technology, to get to the best GE products
