Role Summary/Purpose: As the Lead Engineer of Analytics Hardware / Software Systems, you will be a key member of the project engineering team. You will design hardware and software to enable DP Analytics/Industrial Internet strategy for Waukesha product line. You will partner with project managers, sourcing, supply chain and services to enable Remote Monitoring and Analytics capabilities for GE Distributed Power Waukesha.
Essential Responsibilities: In addition, you will:
  • Collaborate with both lead & senior engineers to design and model protocols and specification solutions and drive those decisions into the design of the RMD & Analytics products
  • Work across the entire software & hardware development lifecycle including high-level and detailed design, software and hardware implementation, verification, validation and maintenance activities
  • Author software and hardware design specifications / requirements
  • Develop and execute unit, integration, and system tests to verify the design and implementation
  • Collaborate with cross functional, globally distributed team members for site specific application solutions and infrastructure needs
  • Support implementation and installation of RMD for Waukesha engines
  • Work with Program Managers to execute on programs needed to meet the Analytics / Predictivity Strategy for Distributed Power
  • Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related Computer / Engineering Discipline from an accredited College or University
  • Minimum of 3 years of hardware & software development experience
  • Additional Eligibility Qualifications: GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening. Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen.

  • Demonstrated effective problem solving capabilities
  • Global mindset with ability to work effectively with team members and technical leaders located in remote locations
  • Experience with multiple scripting languages
  • Experience/ familiarity with engine controls systems, PLCs, industrial control / SCADA systems
  • Experience / familiarity with Remote Monitoring Diagnostics & Analytics
  • Familiarity with relational database design, structured data and XML
  • Experience/ familiarity with cellular, satellite & LAN network communication systems
  • Familiarity with cloud solutions and web technologies
  • Equipment operations, service or engineering experience
  • Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related Computer Discipline from an accredited College or University
