Role Summary/Purpose: The Electrical Engineer for Gas Turbines Packaging Design Engineering team will have the engineering responsibility of leading programs include new product introduction (NPI), reliability & maintainability (RAM), direct material productivity (DMP), and customized requisitions. In this role, they will work with a team of engineers and be responsible for by providing leadership and technical support to ensure program success.
Essential Responsibilities: In addition, you will:


  • Support the electrical design of an Aeroderivaive Gas Turbine Package Product Line
  • Develop new products and options and the maintenance of standard designs and record books, including the design of One Line and Three Line Diagrams, Wiring / Schematic Diagrams, Loop Diagrams, and I/O Lists
  • Develop design schedule for NPIs with milestones and work tasks assignments for team
  • Able to read, interpret and develop wiring, loop, instrumentation and schematic diagrams and apply to electrical design
  • Complete development of electrical design system to ensure compliance in Electrical Code Application ( NEC, IEC, CSA), area classification, and other certified areas, such as ABS
  • Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures
  • Provide support for both internal and external customers
  • Work closely with cross-department/function to execute on programs.
  • Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments to Engineering Managers and Product Line Leaders
  • Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Engineering Technology from an accredited College or University
  • Minimum of 2 years of Electrical Engineering experience
  • Additional Eligibility Qualifications: GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening. Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen.
    Desired Characteristics:
  • Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET or equivalent accredited program) from an accredited College or University
  • Minimum of 3 years of electrical engineering experience in the power industry
  • Previous experience designing or installing GE Energy turbine packages
  • Familiarity with the design and specification of complete power plant electrical systems
  • Strong understanding of GE gas turbines and packages
  • Strong technical aptitude, including applicable engineering tools and systems
  • Green Belt certified or equivalent quality certification
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated project management skills including coordinating activities across functions, demonstrated leadership skills
  • Strong focus on quality, fulfillment and process rigor
  • Strong organization and multitasking skills
  • Strong technical aptitude, including applicable engineering tools and systems
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • PC proficiency
  • Software proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel
  • Proficient in AutoCAD
  • Design electrical layouts of electrical cubicles to ensure optimize space and sizing including completing a 3D Model of cubicles
  • Prepare invention disclosures to protect the technology that provides a competitive advantage to the business
