Role Summary/Purpose: To be accountable to lead the generation of new opportunities and win new orders within the assigned sales territory
Essential Responsibilities: The position is part of the Sub Saharan Africa sales organization and will involve developing the business strategy and the tactics to execute.

Primary function is to personally create new opportunities at new customers to generate new orders for the products or full service/project offerings.
The individual will execute our sales process and will work with our application engineers to articulate our value proposition to customers.
The customer will be an end user, system integrator, OEM, consultant, developer or distributor.

The creation and management of a partner ecosystem will be essential.

The individual will be required to have a high customer touch time and will initiate customer visits to
- discover new opportunities and customer needs
- compile & present quotations to customer
- negotiate sales pricing and terms & conditions of contract
- perform commercial and technical meetings
- meet new people / influencers / decision makers
- survey & assess a customer’s site / plant / operation
- develop and maintain strong relationships
- present technology updates / training

The individual will also be required to:
- be the front line for customer contact
- learn competitor landscape and keep abreast of developments
- keep abreast of new technology
- execute vendor prequalification documentation when required
- prepare content for commercial proposals
- share learnings & best practice
- use Salesforce.com to track daily activities, documentation & opportunities
- use and follow the Miller Heiman sales process
- prepare and present internal reports and metrics
- interface with internal product development, services, sales, marketing and management teams
Qualifications/Requirements: Proficient in speaking / reading / writing in English

Bachelors degree required in Engineering, IT, business / commercial

Knowledge of local energy market and existing customer relationships

Work experience in Power Electronics in Power (Renewables/Solar), Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Manufacturing, Mining & Metals industries

Experience selling large and complex deals with long sales cycles with multiple decision-makers/influencers at multiple levels.
Similar sales role experience, else strong business acumen with technical expertise

Knowledge of :
- inverters
- converters
- variable speed drives
- motors
- energy storage
- power quality technology and systems
- solar / wind / mini hydro
- control systems
- electrical balance of plant

Ability to travel approximately 50% of time to meet customers (meetings at the customer office, or plant level investigations or execution, or internal meetings)

Effective executive-level communication style and presentation skills with:
- the ability to uncover customers’ pain & to position solutions to solve them
- strong persuasive ability to overcome customer objections effectively

An energetic and enthusiastic attitude with self-reliance and discipline to work independently as well as temperament and interpersonal skills to function as a proactive team member

Preference will be given to EE candidates.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications:
Desired Characteristics: French or Portuguese speaking Additional degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Software Programming, Process / Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Business management
