Role Summary/Purpose: The Engineering Leader - Energy Storage will direct and be accountable for engineering / program objectives for the Energy Storage platform. In this role, you will develop / execute strategy and drive key deliverables and milestones to deliver products on schedule and on-budget to meet the overall objectives of the Energy Storage business.
Essential Responsibilities: The engineering leader will be responsible for the engineering organization, processes and engineering solutions that meet the needs of the customer and the Energy Storage platforms. You will be responsible for the smooth collaboration of your team with all the other stakeholders within and outside the business.


As the Engineering Leader - Energy Storage, you will:


  • Lead the organization in the resolution of engineering, supply chain and other functional issues
  • Serve as the primary technical interface with international customers
  • Lead and oversee quality engineering design, execution, and product safety for the portfolio of GEES (GE Energy Storage) products and services
  • Be responsible for the oversight of the related sciences, including materials and performance
  • Serve as key member of the Engineering Storage leadership team, providing guidance, leadership, mentoring, and intervention to strengthen the discipline, quality, reliability, and rigor of our engineering work
  • Provide leadership with high integrity and oversight of processes protecting Intellectual Property, Export Controlled, and Strategic Technology
  • Drive the development and application of consistent design practices and sharing of design best practices across the GE businesses
  • Ensure a rigorous process is followed in the execution of Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action of product and process issues
  • Drive technology synergies and integration across the company
  • Provide Competitive Assessment regarding the business / products and Acquisition Evaluation support
  • Serve as technical expert in the GE community through demonstrated technical accomplishments, including holding patents, component / systems design experience, and strong knowledge of mechanical design fundamentals
  • Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Physics from an accredited College or University
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in an engineering role
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a leadership position
  • Additional Eligibility Qualifications: GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening. Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen.
    Desired Characteristics:
  • Master’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited College or University
  • Experience with a focus on managing technical programs and designing / developing new products related to solving product issues
  • Experience with New Product Development (NPI) process, Lean Principles, and management methodologies
  • Experience managing engineering teams
  • Strong coaching expertise and success in working across the business functions, other GE businesses, and the global teams
  • Strong business acumen and customer mindset
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Six Sigma training or equivalent quality training
