Role Summary/Purpose: You will provide engineering support to the global Chemical production plants to ensure compliant and state of the art chemical production processes across the world with an understanding of global engineering standards and a strong vision for designing best available process safety standards across the organization. You will report to the Chemical & Monitoring Solutions (CMS) Global Engineering Leader.
Essential Responsibilities: In this role, you will contribute to the overall business strategy through implementation of global engineering standards, fostering code compliant plant design and operation. You will also conceive and coordinate medium to large scale engineering projects at the local and regional levels, supporting a network of specialty chemical manufacturing plants.

In addition, you will:
  • Provide leadership for organization Quality and Technical activities
  • Direct generic process / product improvement programs and provide process method excellence throughout the organization
  • Lead technical efforts in inventory control, manufacturing losses, and overall shop costs
  • Provide the technical leadership on problem identification and resolution on all problems
  • Provide ongoing leadership to the organization to meet schedules, quality and measurements, and organizational goals
  • Manage generic manufacturing process programs and lead area in pursuit of state of the art technology and processes that will enhance organization's producibility
  • Manage organization's cost superiority and investment program
  • Compile and report all organization measurements on quality and cost
  • Interface with design engineering, projects, assembly, and vendors to assure requirements are met on time meeting specifications
  • Integrate and develop manufacturing processes in support of cross-organization business needs
  • Contribute to long-term resource and program planning
Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) from an accredited college or university
  • Experience in the chemical industry with experience in process safety and design processes, operations and maintenance that provides leadership to cross-functional teams in the quality / process improvement environment

Desired Characteristics:
  • Master’s Degree (or equivalent) in Chemistry, Chemical, Mechanical , Electrical Engineering or Operations Management from an accredited college or university
  • Knowledge of machining / fabricating and/or assembly and test processes
  • Strong skills in critical process engineering science and mathematics
  • Experience in CAD drawings, E-plan design and looking to operate in a global environment
  • Knowledge of process safety and chemical processes design and familiarity with batch and semi-continuous chemical unit operations, polymerization and organic synthesis processes
  • Working knowledge of NEC code, NFPA standards and OSHA PSM
  • Working knowledge of industrial process control and plant data handling systems
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Able to communicate and understand how to work with different cultures and standards across the world
  • Fluent English language skills; other languages are an asset
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Proven analytical abilities
