Role Summary/Purpose: The Engineer, Rotor Repair will play a key role on a team dedicated to modernizing our processes, methods and tooling for generator stator rewind overhaul and repair across the PGS (Power Generation Services) network. This individual will be responsible for identifying projects, providing input to strategic repair roadmap and leading key projects which add value to our services business through productivity and improved product performance and quality.
Essential Responsibilities: As the Engineer, Rotor Repair, you will be expected to lead projects for assigned components, collaborate with global Repair Development Engineers, and support on-site industrialization of new processes. You will assure compliance with design standards / practices, and be on-time in fulfilling program objectives, schedules, cost and quality requirements. The Engineer, Rotor Repair will work closely with senior engineers and principal engineers for project design and technical guidance. You shall also provide collaboration with other members of the design team and actively take on cross-functional assignments.


As the Engineer, Rotor Repair, you will:


  • Develop expertise in generator component repair, processes, tooling and testing
  • Develop Repair Engineering Instructions (REI) for assigned components and assist regional repair engineers with repair disposition, REI maintenance and upgrades
  • Provide technical guidance, through collaboration and consultation to less experienced engineers and to other individuals responsible for working generator repairs
  • Lead improvements in state-of-the-art technology in the industry
  • Provide guidance for development of and improvements to existing generator maintenance, and repair processes and procedures
  • Support Repair Shop, Field Services, and Installation activities
  • Support cost reduction, cycle reduction, and product quality enhancement projects
  • Contribute to engineering design review activities, and timely documentation of lessons learned
  • Promote and support on-time, on-cost, on-budget performance and achievement of assigned components and systems for new product development and production requisition programs
  • Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
  • Minimum of 1 year design or manufacturing experience
