Role Summary/Purpose: The Senior Account Manager-First Solar will have responsibility for managing the sales & commercial aspects globally for one of our largest clients (>100M$ per year) within our renewables solar business.
Essential Responsibilities: The role will have accountability for growing the business across a number of strategic regions globally, coordinating with regional sales & commercial operations, marketing, product & project functional organizations & the service business to deliver sustainable and profitable growth with this customer.


In addition you will:


  • Lead customer account management, coordinating with GE and customer teams both regionally and at HQ level to deliver sustained growth in the top line (orders intake) of the business
  • Ensure GE EM Solar products and services have a favorable consideration in all of the customers solar projects
  • Identify, develop, and support the regional sales and operations teams to close sales opportunities with the customer globally across all regions
  • Identify, understand, and communicate to GE PC´s Renewables business the customers` key expectations, from both project specific and their business needs in general
  • Work effectively in a team environment with Commercial Operations, Technical Operations, Engineering, Finance, Service and Project management to ensure the most efficient use of all resources
  • Be accountable for orders, pricing / profitability, risk, terms & conditions, and customer satisfaction
  • Ensure accurate and current project and opportunity information is maintained with the CRM system and ensure compliance with the Inquiry to Order ("ITO") process across all of the client’s
  • Participate in and support solar trade shows, conferences, and other market development activities, including maintaining knowledge of market trends, customer requirements, competitor actions, and customer base
  • Work with Marketing and Product Leadership to develop new products and services for business growth
  • Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant sales and/or business development experience in the renewables industry

    ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability and willingness to travel overseas; as required
  • Additional Eligibility Qualifications: GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening. Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen.
    Desired Characteristics:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering discipline or Finance from an accredited college or university
  • Practical understanding of: current / emerging requirements of the Utility and C&I Solar PV markets; and customer financial drivers and needs
  • Strong communication skills and confidence with executive level presentations
  • Strong interpersonal, team building, and negotiation skills; ability to work with colleagues and customers at all levels of the organizations
  • Consistent track record of meeting performance objectives
  • Self-starter with high energy and ability to energize others
  • Ability and track record to effectively deliver results in a multi-functional matrix organization
