| Role Summary/Purpose: | The Regional Application Engineer will develop strategies that provide winning equipment configurations for the region. In this role you will coordinate strategies with local Customer Application Engineers, Life Cycle Value Team, Value Optimization Team, Sales, Commercial Operations and Product Line Leadership. Also there will be a focus on reviewing RFQ addendums and ensuring that any change is being considered and its impact correctly evaluated for GE and competition. |
| Essential Responsibilities: | - Responsible for the technical content of proposals for GE equipment proposals, working with the Commercial Operations and Design Engineering teams to win new orders - Act as the engineering interface to regional Sales & Commercial Operations teams for technical support involving all resources relative to design, production, availability, and performance of GE products during the proposal phase of a project. - Represent GE and the product at customer meetings, maintaining a high level of business acumen and commercial awareness. Represent the technical aspects of project scope and equipment capability to potential customers during the competitive bidding process - Attend internal project meetings to establish strategies for winning and customer meetings to clarify technical aspects during negotiations with the customer - Interpret customer requirements to determine proper application of General Electric equipment to ensure its competitive position and ultimate customer satisfaction - Support GE productivity and quality initiatives - Ensure the on time completion of all assigned and proposal activities including business initiatives for Quality, Cost, Reliability, Performances, etc. - Develop technical capabilities concurrent with execution of position responsibilities. - Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments (IOIs). - Recognize and communicate issues with project schedules or requirements sufficiently early so actions can be taken to resolve those items. |
| Qualifications/Requirements: | - Bachelor degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or equivalent - Minimum 5 years experience in power generation industry - Excellent English language skills (written and spoken) |

| Desired Characteristics: | - Advanced engineering degree - Strong background in gas turbines and accessories design - Knowledge of Steam Turbines and Generators - Knowledgeable of power systems, power plants, controls, gas turbine equipment and terminology - Knowledge of power plants economics, - Well-established communication and presentation skills (oral and written) to all levels within GE and to customers, partners and suppliers. - Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and to work independently with minimal direction required - Well established planning, organizing, influencing and networking skills to implement courses of action for self and others to ensure that work is completed efficiently - Team Player and self-starter with demonstrated design creativity and problem solving capability - Green Belt or Black Belt Certification - Familiarity with operating in a global organization - Arabic language is a plus |
