Role Summary/Purpose: | The Senior Solar Project Manager will be the focal point for assigned solar projects executed in North America, reporting to the Solar Project Management Leader / Operations Manager. You will execute projects on schedule, within budget and minimize the undesirable impact of unexpected changes while maximizing opportunities for margin enhancement. |
Essential Responsibilities: | As the Senior Solar Project Manager, you will:
Serve as the customer-focused Project Manager for select Solar Projects responsible for: delivering, installing, and commissioning equipment-only and full scope Solar Projects; serving as the Customer’s primary point of contact with GE during execution; scheduling and cost controlling ; project reporting and forecasting of cash flow and revenue recognition; executing in accordance with GE project management process and procedures, and where necessary, adapting and improving same Manage subcontractors for project construction activities to include: work scope development, contractor bid evaluation and selection, final price negotiation; schedule and cost control; and change order negotiation Support the Solar Project Management Leader in developing predictive cost modeling and work scopes required by the sales and commercial team for new projects and opportunities Support the Solar Project Management Leader, as necessary, with customer discussions and subcontractor discussions related to project execution Work with the supply chain team (e.g. logistics, sourcing, and manufacturing) to develop delivery plans to meet contractual commitments, minimizing liquidated damages exposure Manage the contract of projects in the execution phase and implement change orders as necessary Support the development of project financial performance projections during the sales / commercial process and track financial performance of projects during execution Support the development of high level and detailed project schedules as needed, to support on time and under budget project execution Engage cross-functional teams (e.g. field operations, sourcing, logistics, project finance, requisition engineering, manufacturing, project controls, and contract management) to ensure successful project execution |
Qualifications/Requirements: | Bachelors’ Degree in Engineering, Science or Business Administration from an accredited college or university Minimum of 7 years of experience in project management or related operational field |

Desired Characteristics: | Demonstrated computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
Ability work independently after proper training and be a self-starter
Ability to work in a matrix environment
Fluency in the Spanish language
Demonstrated skills in project planning software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Primavera, etc.)
Project management experience in the Solar industry
Project management or other experience in power generation industries
Experience dealing successfully with customs
Experience dealing with federal, state and local agencies for various permits
Financial forecasting experience
