Role Summary/Purpose: | Successful candidate will be a part of Drives & Structures team in the Renewable Engineering CoE. The role offers design, analysis, supplier qualification, testing and hardware ownership opportunity focusing on Wind Gearboxes for 1.x / 2.x/ 3.x turbines |
Essential Responsibilities: | - Execute the projects pertaining to new products, technology, processes and field issues. Perform design/analysis of Gearbox including sub-systems (lubrications systems, bearings, and interconnecting parts)and develop detailed documentation. - Collaborate with cross functional teams for managing the product life cycle including drawings, BoM, specifications check - Coordinate tasks cross-functionally with quality teams, manufacturing engineers, sourcing, planning, field support and others to improve first time yield - Work closely with suppliers and manufacturing on the production. Drive cost out ideas in conjunction with gearbox suppliers to meet targeted competitive pricing. May need to travel to supplier locations per business need - Work with external agency for obtaining required certifications |
Qualifications/Requirements: | - Masters in Mechanical Engineering with 4-6 yrs. of experience in parallel stage and planetary gearbox design and development - Thorough knowledge of codes and standards ISO/ DIN/ AGMA for gears, shafts, bearings etc. - Experience in drawing and model review, tolerance selection, stack-up analysis - Knowledge on materials, manufacturing processes of castings, forgings, machining, quality control processes and validation testing - Knowledge of FMEA, should cost analysis, FE analysis is an added advantage - Proficiency in gearbox design calculation software like Kisssoft-Kisssys - Hands on experience on Unigraphics |
