Role Summary/Purpose: As part of the Power Generation Risk and Modeling Team, the Middleware Architect is responsible for architecting integration roadmap of various business engines to enable delivery of key business enhancements for Next-Gen Risk platform (ICAM Next-Gen). Middleware Architect will also be responsible for middleware tools administration and also implementing process improvements for middleware integration.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Determines and owns middleware integration by analyzing requirements, evaluating current systems and reviewing objectives with stakeholders

- Develops and owns middleware integration by designing integration piece of proposed system, defining functional capabilities and security.

- Maps the systems and interfaces used to manage data, sets standards for pass thru data , analyzes current state and conceives desired future state

- Leading the development, implementation and documentation of interfaces and workflows for complex requirements by applying expert level understanding of Middleware best practices (administration, automation, installation, messaging, and user management)

- Leading and conducting unit and system testing to ensure design completeness and to ensure implementation is producing a useful, maintainable, performing and reliable product

- Providing support for Middleware related issues and also performing the Root Cause Analysis

- Provides developmental support by coding utilities, ensure code quality by code reviews.

- Improve process excellence by developing and implementing best practices and mentoring team members

- Improve productivity by automation, reuse and automated deployment
Qualifications/Requirements:
- A minimum of 5+ years of IT experience with deep exposure to Middleware technologies

- Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or related technical discipline

- Demonstrated track record of providing technical solutions

- Working knowledge of various integration design patterns.

- Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) Knowledge- WebSphere ESB, Oracle ESB, TIBCO EMS, Apache Camel, Talend ESB

- Strong hands-on experience in application Integration architecture, including Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) and Messaging Systems.

- Working knowledge of UML and UML design tools

- Experience in building and implementing enterprise solutions involving application servers - JBOSS, Tomcat, WebSphere, WebLogic in cluster environments

- Experienced or conversant in emerging tools like columnar and NoSQL databases, predictive analytics, data visualization, and unstructured data

- Experience in Java/J2EE, XSL, XSLT processor(s), XML

- Clear exposure and experience in Agile development methodology

- GB Certification (GE employees only)

- Experience using Six Sigma tools and techniques

- Solid experience in supporting business applications and technologies to digitize business processes
