Role Summary/Purpose: The Solar Compliance and Interconnection Leader will optimize the business’ performance and internal processes related to permitting, utility interconnect, and incentive applications nationwide with the multiple authorities having jurisdiction. In this role, you will seek standardization and foster collaboration within the business while building important relationships externally as well.
Essential Responsibilities: As the Solar Compliance and Interconnection Leader, you will:


  • Define interconnect template execution strategies by region / utility
  • Be the primary point of contact for all AHJs (Authority Having Jurisdiction) for our solar business
  • Evaluate new incentives and their impact to our business
  • Develop global status reporting on business wide, related deliverables
  • Identify, document, and manage key incentive, permitting and interconnect risks through the life of the contract
  • Collaborate with project managers and developers in the execution of related obligations
  • Build strong relationships with Utilities, and permitting and incentive AHJs
  • Develop and execute negotiation strategies to improve the business’ performance in execution
  • Participate in advisory committees on behalf of the business to suggest to AHJs ways in which their processes can be improved
  • Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related Technical discipline
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction permitting, utility interconnect execution, incentive application or regulatory compliance experience in the power or construction industry

    ELIGIBITLIY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability and willingness to travel 20% of the time, as required
  • Additional Eligibility Qualifications: GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening. Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen.

  • Master’s Degree
  • Minimum of 5 years of construction permitting, utility interconnect execution, incentive application or regulatory compliance experience in the power or construction industry
  • Experience in preparing government submissions and demonstrated effective interaction with regulatory agencies and senior business leaders
  • Ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects and other responsibilities, adjust to changing priorities and make decisions with speed and accuracy based on available information
  • Strong program and project management skills
  • Ability to work within a globally diverse, cross-functional, internal and external team across different time zones
  • Strong presentation and negotiation skills
  • Professional Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) certification (i.e. PG, PE, LSP, CIH, CSP, CPE)
  • Six Sigma training or equivalent quality training
