Role Summary/Purpose: GE's newly formed start-up business Current, powered by GE, has an exciting opportunity in it's Digital engineering function. If you are a passionate leader with

Essential Responsibilities: The Engineering Leader role is a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on the broader energy landscape. The role offers the opportunity for the right
individual to lead the engineering development of a new integrated platform for energy management systems (EMS) while also being responsible for the design,
development and delivery of solutions based on this platform. The Engineering Leader will be responsible for the overall product engineering and solutions
delivery.

The Engineering Leader, Energy Management Systems will be responsible for :


  • Building and leading a team of top engineers for development of market leading EMS platform, applications and solutions; using Agile approaches
  • Setting up organization, processes and structure to design, deploy, manage and support large enterprise EMS solutions efficiently
  • Using leadership skills to effectively staff initiatives, develop / coach engineers, and create work plans to deliver on commitments; while meeting budgets
  • Coordinating multiple, simultaneous software & solution projects, initiatives and assignments with broad scope and high impact to our customers
  • Working closely with product management to ensure customer requirements are translated into clear product specifications
  • Working with globally distributed teams to leverage global experience and expertise
  • Working with technology partners to enable fast platform, applications and solutions development
  • Supporting the go-to-market and commercials efforts; including customer visits and solution definition
  • Working collaboratively with other Current teams (Intelligent Environments, Lighting, Solar, Energy Storage, EV teams and GE Digital) to build and offer complete integrated Intelligent Enterprise products and solutions that combine energy management systems with other Current technologies
  • Monitoring industry and technology trends as well as regulatory developments to develop new solutions
  • Actively participating in strategic planning of multi generation product roadmap development
  • Qualifications/Requirements:
  • BS Degree in Engineering Degree or Computer Science or equivalent from an accredited university or college
  • Minimum of 10 Years of Technical Leadership experience in the software and / or electronics industry
  • Additional Eligibility Qualifications: GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening. Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen.
    Desired Characteristics:
  • Experience with the creation of production digital systems using best practices in hardware and software engineering, including Agile methodologies
  • Strong knowledge of building energy management, controls and demand response systems
  • Strong knowledge of modern software technologies and cloud platforms
  • Strong systems engineering abilities for systems including sensors, hardware, wireless communications, access points, edge devices; cloud systems and mobile devices
  • Well versed with software life cycle development tools: issue tracking, requirement gathering, version control systems, etc.
  • Experience designing and launching products from concept to launch; as well as delivery custom solutions on time and within budget
  • Demonstrated ability in leading, motivating and developing team members using an inclusive approach
  • Highly motivated team player that can balance and manage multiple priorities
  • Demonstrated ability to meet cost, quality, and reliability goals
  • Experience working with global, cross-functional teams and vendors
  • Ability to take broad problems and reduce to singular solutions using clear thinking practices
  • Demonstrated leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Requires high energy, assertiveness, and self -motivated individual to work in a fast paced environment with limited direction #DTR
