Role Summary/Purpose: The primary technical interface with Commercial Operations, Marketing, Sales, Requisition Engineering, Engineering COEs and other Engineering functions for the Inquiry-to-Order (ITO) process for Wind Turbines
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Owns the Customer Technical negotiations and supports as required, incl. meetings
  • Manages the project technical schedules & information, and tracks projects to completion
  • Site suitability checks, in particular Wind Resource Assessments, Mechanical Load Assessments, AEP estimates, Noise Analyses, Risk Scenario Analyses etc.
  • Owns programs for improved internal & external customer satisfaction
  • Leads evaluating / deploying new business tools. Shares best practices, and drive continuous improvements in capability and productivity
  • Delivers on time, quality inputs, for all assigned projects during ITO phase
  • Serves as Technical Leader back-up to ensure flawless ITO support
  • Aligns the ITO customer wants with pre-engineered capabilities and offerings
  • Ensures timely support for responses to all customer technical inquiries, meetings, and communication. This includes review of customer specifications & site data.
  • Serves as interface with Platform Teams, New Product Introduction (NPI) Teams, and Product Line Leadership (PLL), to facilitate implementation of new Wind Turbine offerings
  • Proactively engages with Platform and PLL in assigned NPI Programs to ensure Tollgate deliverables are identified & meet ITO requirements
  • Actively communicates all contract and project requirements to Engineering design functions, utilizing internal documentation systems
  • Liaises with: Local, domestic and international peers
  • Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor Degree or equivalent in engineering sciences or equivalent
  • 5+ years of overall Working Experience
  • Working Experience in Wind Energy
  • Knowledge of Wind Turbine types, application spaces and site suitability
  • Knowledge of Wind Resource Analysis and related tools and/or
    knowledge of Mechanical Load Assessment and related tools
  • Experience in generating and delivering customer-facing technical presentations
  • Proven ability to work under pressure and challenging conditions
  • Demonstrated analytical skills, creative problem solving skills
  • Proficiency with MS Office Tools
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Experience in working with international teams
  • Self-motivated team player
  • Project Management mind-set
  • Willingness to travel occasionally
  • Fluent in English
  • Green Belt certified (GE internal only)

  • Experience providing technical support to Sales, Commercial and Marketing functions
  • In-depth knowledge of wind turbines, subsystems and components
  • Experience in applicable GE internal processes and tools
  • Strong desire and ability to drive improvement and change
  • Prior experience in customer facing roles
  • Fluent in German
