Role Summary/Purpose: The Onshore Wind Engineering Performance Subsystem team is responsible for defining performance requirements of wind turbines along with ensuring that the design meets these requirements. The Performance Subsystem is seeking a Senior Acoustics Engineer with demonstrated experimental and theoretical acoustics expertise, responsible for wind turbine system acoustics inclusive of the full life cycle of the wind turbine from pre-concept through installed base.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Lead wind turbine acoustics product design for all platforms, including modeling, testing and data analysis. Support product design reviews. Own system-level product noise emissions.

- Work closely with component owners to establish component acoustic specifications and their validation

- Manage Root Cause Analyses (RCA’s) and resolve acoustic issues in the installed base, as needed

- Contribute to Performance Subsystem requirements (through Design Memos) and customer facing technical documents

- Lead strategic initiative(s) to improve turbine systems acoustics performance in close cooperation with the component ‘Centers of Excellence’

- Develop, maintain and run tools and models to predict wind turbine acoustics (e.g. FEM/BEM, SEA, MBS)

- Effectively communicate and provide recommendations through analysis, preparation and presentation of technical material to internal and external audiences.

- Contribute to new and revised design practices
Qualifications/Requirements: Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering
Significant engineering experience
Proven acoustics engineering experience
Ability to work in a matrix organizational environment
Strong oral and written communication skills
System or product-level mindset
