Role Summary/Purpose: The Sr. Business Development and Channel Manager will be directly responsible for growing the solar business’s sales volume by implementing a channel / partner strategy for the commercial / industrial solar development market.

Essential Responsibilities: As the Sr. Business Development and Channel Manager, you will:


  • Structure multiple options / strategies to best partner to speed customer acquisition and grow top line revenue
  • Develop the proper scope split, contractual agreements and economics to ensure our channel / partner programs are “win-win” and set up for success
  • Support the Solar C&I (Commercial and Industrial) sales team – working with the team to supplement and feed their pipeline activities
  • Investigate channel / BD (Business Development) strategies that bring more than top - line volume – looking into strategies that also leverage “local” construction, and permitting
  • Create BD strategy focused on both project acquisition and Joint Development Agreements with a goal of increasing volume
  • Build network with key market stakeholders, develop partnerships with key industry players to accelerate business growth
  • Build high quality partnerships in key US solar markets
  • Confirm financial structures and modeling that supports our partners while optimizing returns for Current
  • Work with GM to communicate and present long - term solar BD project strategy to Current Leadership team; provoke discussion at senior level and present contrary views when necessary

  • Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree and minimum of 2 years of solar channel / BD experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of distributed energy economic analysis (customer economics, partner economics, utilities, incentives, policy)


    ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:


    PLEASE NOTE: Schenectady is the preferred location, however other U.S. locations may be considered.

  • Additional Eligibility Qualifications: GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening. Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen.

  • Education in Economics, Engineering, or Finance, or MBA from top university preferred

  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills, with the ability to synthesize and convey complex technical and economic concepts effectively
  • Superior Excel and financial modeling skills; demonstrated ability to express complex ideas in simple unambiguous form
  • Comfortable working as a team player with many diverse groups in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with an ability to influence and convince stakeholders and customers at all levels of an organization
  • Innovative and creative thinker
  • Proven ability to operate in a multi - billion dollar, global-matrix organization
