The Controls Engineer / Technologist will demonstrate accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives involving Controls solutions in the field of embedded engine control software.
Essential Responsibilities: In addition, you will:

  • Develop engine control algorithms for technical demonstration and production
  • Provide key technical direction to projects
  • Effectively communicate and provide recommendations through the analysis, preparation and presentation of technical data to internal and external GE customers
  • Use system dynamic analyses using first-principles to support recommendations
  • Use simulation techniques for control system rapid prototyping and product development
  • Write and review specifications, test plans and other documentation
  • Support / lead other functional areas for the transition from product development to release
  • Contribute to cross-functional teams throughout the business to improve or resolve manufacturing, product center, supplier, or field issues
  • Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in embedded controls software development
  • Additional Eligibility Qualifications: GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening. Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen.
    Desired Characteristics:
  • Experience and understanding of production SW development processes
  • Experience in field of controls development related to internal combustion engine systems and/or vehicles and/or aircraft
  • Experience with implementing model based controls
  • Experience developing and implementing advanced control diagnostics and prognostics
  • Demonstrated proficiency in simulation and modeling of mechanical and electrical systems
  • Experience with safety related software
  • Organizational skills required to manage multiple projects and/or activities and technical project personnel internal and remote
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
