The Senior Electrical Engineer – Grid will be responsible for the electrical design and integration of the Durathon Energy Storage System (DESS).
Essential Responsibilities: In addition you will:


  • Lead the integration of the AC / DC system with design guidance in the areas of balance of plant such as transformers, interconnects, filters and safety equipment
  • Lead the integration of in-house and 3rd party inverters with the GE DESS
  • Lead the site electrical integration for installations with various customers around the world in cooperation with the field engineering team
  • Work together with electrical subsystem engineers to design the electrical wiring and buss protection to meet all applicable operational, compliance and safety standards
  • Assess current in house technologies against competing technologies and find optimum application solutions for GE ES technology portfolio
  • Lead overall system definition and integration for the application space
  • Translate new product description into product system specification
  • Work with the subsystem teams to assure all subsystem designs integrated to deliver expected overall system performance
  • Understand and drive trade-offs between design and performance characteristics at the customer, system, and subsystem level
  • Run and drive internal processes to implement functional requirements, validation plan and requirement traceability
  • Attend design reviews and provide inputs from system integration perspective
  • Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelors Degree of Science Degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering
  • Minimum of 10 years of related experience in energy storage technologies or grid systems
  • Additional Eligibility Qualifications: GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening. Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen.
    Desired Characteristics:
  • Master’s Degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering
  • Experience in battery system integration
  • Fluent in at least one other language
  • Experience in Grid applications (Utility, Wind, or Solar)
  • Strong demonstrated strategic planning ability
  • Intellectual curiosity and technical aptitude to learn new technologies and properly evaluate their potentials
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Green Belt Certification (GE employees only)
