Role Summary/Purpose: | Lead M&D Analytics engineer will be analyzing the time series data, structured data and unstructured data and summarizing the analysis via reports and other visualization techniques to make the information available to internal teams, higher management and external customers. |
Essential Responsibilities: | 1. Identification and development of key performance indicators of power generating equipments (examples include efficiency, utilization, etc.) by working with cross-functional teams. 2. Analyzing the information using physics-based approach, data mining techniques and analytical/statistical modeling for a. Anomaly and fault detection, diagnostics and prognostics of equipment b. Identifying improvement areas in plant operation 3. Delivering the information by applying various data visualization, data analysis/data mining and reporting techniques. 4. Developing, implementing and life cycle management of automated algorithms for retrieval and long-term storage of information |
Qualifications/Requirements: | 1. Bachelors in Engineering (Mechanical/Power/Electrical/Computer science) 2. 4+ years industry experience related to data analysis/statistical modeling/artificial intelligence/information delivery - should have lead projects in the area of data analysis. 3. Knowledge of programming language like Matlab and statistical software like R, SAS/JMP/S+. |

Desired Characteristics: | 1. Masters in Statistics and probability/Operation research/Decision sciences
2. Knowledge of relational Databases like MS SQL server, Oracle and historian databases 3. Knowledge of visualization software like SAP Crystal reports, IBM Cognos, Tibco Spotfire. 4. Experience in Remote monitoring and diagnostics and/or data analysis related to power plant or rotary equipment. |
