On the other hand, there are technologists who are working on Smart Grid technology under Digital Energy for efficient transmission and distribution of energy as well as creating a new paradigm in the world of energy conservation through smart meters and applications. There are those, who are involved in validating the technology and customizing it to suit the needs of the customers, doing on-site installations and after market services for direct customers. Essential Responsibilities: | In this position, the individual will be exposed to all aspects of the Control system – application software, controls hardware and networking. The successful individual in this position will understand the entire control system as well as the fundamentals of Turbine Operations and how those fundamentals interact with the control system to deliver optimum value to the customer. The position will also offer opportunities to directly interface with customers and commercial GE entities Working with experienced engineers, the successful candidate will utilize their problem-solving, technical and interpersonal skills & project managements experience to: - Lead & Execute Application Software Upgrades, Panel Upgrades, HMI Upgrades from Mark* to Mark*Ve, Mark*Vie control systems by owning, developing and applying advanced control technologies to turbine Applications - Write, test and develop requirements for application code - Provide Start Up, Commissioning, Trouble Shooting Support for Power Plant Control Systems on HW & SW applications - Lead & Conduct SW/HW FAT with Customers to demonstrate & validate Controls Functionality - Define and continuously improve methodologies for developing and testing control systems - Design and implement control networks using the latest network technologies - Develop new control technologies into packaged product offerings - Support site installations with occasional travel to customer sites - Lead projects with ultimate responsibility for quality and schedule metrics & coordinating with leadership team on the same |
Qualifications/Requirements: | BE / B Tech – Electrical/Electronics /Controls & Instrumentation 6 - 9 years of Industrial control experience preferably in control systems for power plants Solid working Knowledge of GE-Gas and Steam Turbine Controls and operational philosophy for different GE – GT/ST Frames with Prior hands on experience on GE Gas and Steam turbine controls would be a distinct advantage Solid working Knowledge on Gas / Steam Turbine Applications, SW concepts, PLC/DCS Engineering Hands on experience in Installation/Commissioning/Maintenance of Control Systems, HMI and Networking Proven experience in writing controls logic using ladder logic/ statement list / block logic diagrams Experience with Easy 5 Simulations / Artemis to validate the functionality of Application Software Experience with HMI and networking with control Systems and third party devices Influencing & Impactful communication skills Proven Track record leading & driving multiple projects to completion Willingness to be challenged and executing using new technologies and skills Experience & ability working in Global setting & teams |
