The successful candidate will have overall solution responsibility to assure customers’ Wind, Solar and Battery energy storage (BESS) products are maintained and operational through management of hardware/software design solutions, project resources and field engineering services. The Product Service Technical Lead will work with customers, commercial teams, other engineering teams, and suppliers to provide issue resolution for Power Conversion and related equipment.
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical & troubleshooting support to GE Renewables engineering, commissioners and installers using GEPC Renewables products
  • Interact with field personnel to obtain critical data on support issues
  • Interface with product development, sourcing, manufacturing, product line leadership and product engineering teams to expediently resolve technical issues
  • Own quality measurements, data gathering & analysis of GEPC Renewables products and components. Report quality findings, trends, and recommendations
  • Author and distribute documentation for Customer Field Changes, Product Service issue notices/ bulletins as the means to facilitate information on Quality issues affecting the GEPC Renewables products
  • Team with product support members in the Wind and Solar renewable businesses to improve product support by tracking individual GEPC support projects and associated reports
  • Develop knowledge articles for the knowledge base support solutions tool
  • Team with product designers to define product support documentation and deliver content for publication
  • Monitor and manage budgets for RTS support hours
  • Provide training support for the GEPC renewables products
  • Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s in Engineering from an accredited college/university
  • Minimum of 5 years Engineering experience
  • Additional Eligibility Qualifications: GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening. Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen.
    Desired Characteristics:
  • Adaptable to work with people from varying global environments and disciplines: Field, Manufacturing, Sourcing, Engineering and various Quality Organizations
  • At least 3 years’ experience in a Customer Service/ Product Service Role or at least 2 years field experience doing electrical troubleshooting
  • Strong customer focus & quality mindset
  • Team player and ability to self-direct
  • Ability to work with minimal direction, resourceful
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
  • Demonstrated ability to meet agreed upon goals and measurements
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent Certification
  • PC proficient, Windows
  • Travel will be necessary, estimated to be less then 20%
  • Ability to climb 80-150-meter wind towers
  • Wind Field commissioning, operational or support experience
  • Demonstrated success as a change agent in the introduction of new processes
  • Strong influencing, facilitation, leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated design creativity and problem solving capabilities
  • Strong process discipline with sound analytical and statistical skills
  • Ability to work and communicate at all levels of the organization
  • Project Management skills
  • Experience with Mark Vie platform hardware or software
