Role Summary/Purpose:
Essential Responsibilities: *Design and development of controls for the simple cycle and combined cycle projects.
*Co –ordination with Project managers and customer for design inputs for the OTR phase of the project. Resource allocation and track, budget, variance and schedule.
*Interface with global supply chain for manufacturing and ordering of controls equipment.
* Interface with third party equipment using standard OPC, Modbus IEC protocols.
*Conduct customer FAT’s demonstrate and validate controls functionality
*Attend customer Kick off meetings and design reviews and translate technical information for engineering and design.
* Work on MarkVIe based Plant Controls project. Learning & executing the Plant Controls team process that would include estimating control hardware, ordering hardware, understanding DCS software library, configuring control software for simple / combined cycle power plant, third party communication protocols (Modbus, IEC, OPC etc.).
*Work closely with services teams, customers, for the successful implementation at site and resolving site issues.
Qualifications/Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technical discipline.
* Minimum 7 to 10 years experience Plant controls
*Experience with Mark VI, Mark Vie, ControlST and cimplicity controls platform.
* Strong written communication skills. Capable of writing technical documents and clearly conveying complex technical issues in a written format.
* Strong organizational, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
* Capable of handling multiple projects in a fast paced environment and prioritizing to meet business objectives.
* Self-starter that can accept broad based assignments and work with limited direction from technical leader.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications:
Desired Characteristics: Experience with Mark VI, Mark Vie, ControlST and cimplicity controls platform & Knowledge of HRSG, Balance of Plant and auxiliary equipment including their interfaces to the control system The candidate should have ability to succeed in a global team environment. Team player with strong communication skills. The candidate should be ambitious, smart worker, self-starter, who delivers results with minimal supervision. The candidate should possess trong English skills (oral and written). The candidate should have logical thinking and analytical skills for troubleshooting engineering issues . The candidate should have good exposure e to control system design and architecture and familiar with network components / Ethernet protocol. GB certification for GE candidates.
