Role Summary/Purpose: Successful candidate will be part of the Blades Nacelle Spinner design team in the Renewable Engineering CoE, designing composite components for competitiveness in cost & performance. The role offers design, analysis, supplier qualification, component testing and hardware ownership capability development opportunity focusing on
1.x and
2.x MW Wind Turbine Composite components.
Essential Responsibilities: -Perform design/analysis of wind turbine blades , nacelles and spinners
-Support new product technology, manufacturing processes and field issues
-Support detailed documentation on design certification, manufacturing processes and repairs
-Work with product definition engg to create and own component models & drawings
-Collaborate with global teams on related projects
-Focus on building / leveraging required domain expertise
-Ensure compliance to all GE wind turbine process requirements
Qualifications/Requirements: -Preferably Masters in engineering (mechanical, civil, structural, aerospace) with 2+ years of experience
-Proficiency in structural analysis through finite element analysis (FEA)
-Skilled in Ansys, CATIA, Unigraphics Nx2
Additional Eligibility Qualifications:
Desired Characteristics: -Experience in structural design of FRP composite components using Finite Element Analysis -Knowledge on FRP composite manufacturing processes -Knowledge on composite fracture mechanics and failure modes -Passionate about conceptualizing and developing best-in-class component designs -Possess engineering acumen, attention to details, ability to perform design calculations, good understanding of boundary conditions -Ability to execute on deliverables with On-time Delivery and Quality -Ability to learn new domains and deliver with problem solving mindset -Good communication skills in both written and oral English
