The Mechanical Reliability Engineer will be responsible for mechanical reliability engineering at the Minnetonka Site. The focus will be to provide programs & projects to improve asset reliability, reduce maintenance costs & foster continuous improvements. This will include optimization of Preventive & Predictive Maintenance programs, & identification & correction of long standing maintenance issues. They will be required to work closely with Engineering, Maintenance, & Operations Leaders.
Essential Responsibilities: In addition you will:

  • Develop and own asset identification system for all manufacturing equipment
  • Lead implementation of Computerize Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
  • Work with the Manufacturing Engineers to identifying specific mechanical programs within operations to improve reliability / availability, which directly leads to improved plant stability
  • Provide support for maintenance troubleshooting
  • Optimize preventative and predictive maintenance programs in each of unit. Including Health & Safety Critical, Environmental Critical, Process Critical, and Quality Critical programs
  • Identify leading edge maintenance technology that drives unit performance
  • Assist in the development of maintenance personnel training procedures
  • Identify, engineer and implement projects / programs in these operations to increase productivity and reliability
  • Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with PC applications such as CMMS, Word, Excel
  • Additional Eligibility Qualifications: GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening. Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen.
    Desired Characteristics:
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate with operation, technical, mechanical / electrical maintenance crafts people
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering with applicable experience as a Mechanical Engineer in an industrial facility
  • Familiarity with Maintenance Management Systems
  • Familiarity with basic mechanical components, such as bearings, gearboxes, rotating process equipment, static assets (structural steel, vessels, piping)
  • Familiarity with Predictive Maintenance techniques such as Vibration Analysis, Infrared Tomography, and Ultrasonic
  • Familiarity with reliability techniques, including Root Cause Analysis and Reliability Centered Maintenance
  • Experience in the chemical industry with Process Safety Management (PSM) background
  • Knowledge and experience using Six Sigma tools and methods
  • Master's Degree in related field
  • Excellent organizational and team building skills
  • Self-Motivated
