Role Summary/Purpose: PGS Engineering provides support to the Power Generation Services business. The GT Services Requisition team owns execution of conversions, modifications, and uprates to the GE installed fleet of gas turbines. The Senior Requisition Engineer will provide technical coordination for conversions, modifications, and up-rates on Gas Turbines in the GE installed base. They will process requisitions through Engineering, Drafting & Sourcing.
Essential Responsibilities: In addition you will:

  • Provide technical coordination for conversions, modifications, and uprates on in-service Gas Turbines, including unit relocations
  • Provide wing to wing support for proposals and projects from inquiry to remittance (ITR)
  • Process requisitions through Engineering, Drafting & Sourcing
  • Develop and monitor engineering project schedules
  • Coordinate scheduled with customer requirements through Project Managers & CS Customer Performance Managers
  • Communicate project scope to Engineering / Manufacturing / Sourcing / Field Service / Service Shop Personnel
  • Provide technical support for major Gas Turbine rebuild / repair / modification projects
  • Make technical presentations to customers and other GE components
  • Provide technical assistance to field service personnel during Project Installation
  • Support Team goals and objectives for LEAN productivity and Material Cost productivity
  • Promote, participate in and lead process improvement projects
  • Ensure timely completion of all project objectives
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and direction of other requisition engineers as required
  • Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum 8 years engineering or field experience

    Eligibility Requirements:

  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally, as needed
  • Additional Eligibility Qualifications: GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening. Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen.
    Desired Characteristics:
  • Field experience on heavy duty Gas Turbines, particularly B / E-class and vintage units
  • Computer skills / familiarity with PLM / PEGASUS / COPICS / e-BOM and ML / BOM structure
  • Technical knowledge of Gas Turbine fleet
  • Green Belt / Black Belt certification or equivalent quality certification
  • Outstanding communications skills and strong Project coordination / leadership skills
  • Customer Centricity mind set
  • Knowledge of Gas Turbine product lines and systems
