Role Summary/Purpose: Our team of Engineers support the current operation and maintenance of Gas Turbines, Steam Turbines, Generators as well as Turbine Control and Accessory systems. Our Engineers support all turbine related equipment from the time the equipment is installed until it is decommissioned. Product Service Engineers are focal points for problem resolution for our customers. As a Product Service Engineer, you will be responsible for upholding GE's product integrity
Essential Responsibilities: Respond to internal and external customer requests for technical issue resolution relating to gas turbine using technical product knowledge and analytical skills while adhering to sound engineering principles, standards, practices, procedures.
Escalate issues as required acting as the liaison between the field and design engineering to drive specific technical resolution and to help engineering identify, drive corrective actions.
Plan and provide engineering technical oversight (Outage Excellence) to the Contractual Services and Field Services teams during planned outages to meet availability goals.Prepare technical information letters to inform internal and external customers of major issue resolutions.
Program manages root cause analysis on Gas Turbine systems
Partner with the Services Engineering teams and interface with external and internal suppliers to facilitate the logistical implementation of Fleet Program technical solutions.
Qualifications/Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
At least 4-6 years of experience in Gas Turbine technology
Fluent in English
Proven record of responsiveness in offering disposition to various stakeholders (regional/global) including customer, CPM, design/repair COE
Willing to work off hours and weekends to support emergency issue resolution.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications:
Desired Characteristics: Experience in Gas Turbine/Combined cycle operation and maintenance/projects Experience working directly with end customers in power generation industry Green Belt certified (GE Employees only) Strong technical aptitude, including applicable engineering tools and systems Strong verbal and written communication skills Demonstrated troubleshooting skills Experience working with analyzing field data and information Strong Microsoft Office and PC skills
