Role Summary/Purpose: The Engineer / Technologist will support and coordinate with interfacing organizations including: global and domestic product definition teams (PDE), design engineering, manufacturing, Advanced Technology Operation (ATO), and systems engineering.
Essential Responsibilities: In addition you will:

  • Improve PDE team productivity by developing / using gold standard models, drawing templates and integrating with the PDE Initiatives Team
  • Drive accountability that designs are accurately represented via models, drawings and bills of materials
  • Monitor, manage, and meet the deliverables of Product Definition's related business; CM&U (Conversions, Modifications and Upgrades), requisition, and NPI / NTI (New Product Introduction / New Technology Introduction)
  • Assist existing personnel in understanding how to leverage new technology interfaces
  • Provide engineering technical leadership for advancing PDE productivity and customer value initiatives that include:
    • Reusable parametric manufacturing models
    • Automated model and drawing creation and checking
    • Parametric FEM and CFD models for exploring design space solutions using DOEs
    • Tagging and meshing of analytical models

  • Interface analysis and documentation using 3D assembly models, GD&T and Monte Carlo simulation
  • Draw reduction and elimination
  • Process improvement techniques and projects that create a better technology interface leading to overall efficiency improvements in the PDE organization
  • Explore and advance CAD, CAE and CAM capabilities within NX to improve current processes. Benchmark and leverage other GE business's successful tools in CAD, CAE and CAM
  • Define aspects of engineering that are critical to quality (CTQ's) to meet supply chain initiatives given specified time frames
  • Communicate progress to all levels of the organization
  • Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree of Science in Engineering from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum of 1 completed Co-op / internship in an engineering related field
