Role Summary/Purpose: The MDM Project Manager will be aligned with the ERP Simplification Program, GE Power & Water (P&W) has put in place a Master Data Management (MDM) initiative with the objective of defining & executing the master data strategy across the enterprise. With multiple strategic platforms in place, it is important to have a solution around the master data sets that are shared across these different applications & helps to link all the information together for reporting & analytics.
Essential Responsibilities: In addition you will:

  • Manage one or two master data sets
  • Scope, prioritize, plan & execute of the organization’s Master Data Management strategic roadmap
  • Provide wing-to-wing ownership for Master Data Management including Governance, Data Quality & Metadata Management across GE P&W
  • Define the processes and templates to execute the MDM strategy
  • Facilitate the gathering of master data requirements (processes & attributes) across different functional teams & driving process improvements & simplification
  • Leada cross-functional team to perform process & data analysis, identifying systems of record, defining the MDM solutions & application architecture
  • Manage MDM projects through analysis, design, build, conversions, testing and go-live
  • Define the Data Governance model including people, process and technology to sustain Data Quality for the Master Data objects and implement the necessary operating mechanisms to ensure compliance
  • Establish metadata management, data catalogs, data standards & best practices for MDM data working closely with enterprise architects
  • Manage the project plans & other required project documentation & providing updates on project progress, budget, schedule & milestones, issues & risks
  • Manage third-party partners and/or vendor relationships, as necessary
  • Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, MIS or related discipline from accredited college or university
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in IT program management and/or project leadership
  • Additional Eligibility Qualifications: GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening. Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen.

  • Experience in leading application development and related SDLC processes
  • Excellent leadership and organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-starter, able to work independently, takes initiative
  • Possesses strong problem solving & analytical skills
  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification or equivalent quality certification
  • Experience in driving Master Data Management program
  • Experience in MDM tools like Oracle Data Hubs / PIM, Informatica Siperian & Talend
