Role Summary/Purpose: The Controls Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing and applying electronic / electro mechanical devices for / to industrial engines.
Essential Responsibilities: In addition, you will:

  • Work with engineers, designers, manufacturing, purchasing, application engineering, marketing, and suppliers to specify and procure prototype hardware for design, validation, and production release
  • Use simulation techniques for rapid prototyping and product development
  • Remain current and cognizant of applicable industry standards and global compliance requirements
  • Provide technical support and leadership to other functional areas on resolving manufacturing, procurement, quality, service, and reliability problems as necessary
  • Provide technical information to other functional areas for the smooth transition from development to release
  • Evaluate project requirements, execute required activities, and direct others as required
  • Write test requests and technical reports for test work
  • Participate in and perform reviews of group work products including specifications and test plans
  • Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience developing, applying, or calibrating engine controls required and have demonstrated a technical and professional knowledge of the engineering fundamentals

  • Ability and willingness to travel, as required
  • Additional Eligibility Qualifications: GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening. Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen.
    Desired Characteristics:
  • Engine product development experience
  • Demonstrated proficiency in simulation and modeling of mechanical and electrical systems
  • Experienced in Simulink modeling and embedded code development for rapid prototyping and production release
  • Familiarity with MAAB, MISRA, and other standards related to model based design and embedded code development
  • Process-oriented with a strong background in specification development and validation and verification techniques
  • Organizational skills required to manage multiple projects and/or activities
  • Demonstrated proficiency in technical writing, oral, listening and presentation skills
  • Confident self-starter who will take responsibility to make decisions for a successful total system solution
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
