Role Summary/Purpose: In this role, the Generator Engineering / Technologist (GEN) will be part of the division of Power Generation Products engineering within the Power & Water GE Business that specialize in design engineering for industrial generators that generate power across the world. The members of GEN directly impact GE Power & Water's ability to win and retain customers through technical excellence, high-quality designs and execution, first-rate customer responsiveness, and on-time performance.
Essential Responsibilities: In this role, you will be responsible for defined work or projects with moderate complexity. You will also follows an individual work plan and meet day-to-day short-term objectives. Has the ability to resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning.


In addition, you will:


  • Execute, with guidance from senior engineering resources, the analysis, design, test, or integration required to define and support assigned components, assemblies or systems that meet business standards and program / product requirements
  • Direct drafting and support manufacturing, suppliers, and business partners to assure that design intent from conceptual definition to finished product is achieved
  • Perform requisition activities, meeting schedules and cost objectives
  • Support manufacturing, sourcing, field services, and installation activities as required
  • Prepare and present technical data to internal and external customers
  • Document and communicate results of technical data generated
  • Participate on teams assigned to address specific organizational initiatives
  • Share engineering information and promote open dialogue.
  • Prepare invention disclosures to protect the technology that provides a competitive advantage to the business
  • Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited College or University
  • Additional Eligibility Qualifications: GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening. Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen.

  • Coursework in heat transfer
