Role Summary/Purpose: The Manufacturing Engineer – Electric Generators will support the manufacture of Electric Generators in a highly cross-functional environment to identify and implement Electric Generator projects & the associated capital equipment projects to manufacture world class electric generators in a cost effective fashion. The position may also be involved in day to day technical tasks associated with Electric Generator production.
Essential Responsibilities: In addition you will:

  • Be responsible for producibility / process capability, manufacturing process development, tool design, manufacturing cost estimating, Sourcing technical support, Quality qualifications, test support, product cost reduction efforts, and Capital Equipment projects
  • Support Six Sigma and Lean manufacturing initiatives
  • Provide technical leadership for manufacturing processes such as armature and field system and subsystem assembly processes, stationary and rotating electrical testing of electric generators, identification, testing of, and implementation of composite & insulating materials in electric generators
  • Own or support manufacturing engineering projects requiring development of specifications, supplier management, purchase, installation and qualification of manufacturing equipment
  • Participate in EHS related actions, to improve plant safety in own area
  • Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in manufacturing, engineering, or related field

    Desired Characteristics:
  • Prior experience with Lean Manufacturing
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Materials, or Manufacturing Engineering (or Engineering Technology) from an accredited college or university
  • Enterprise Resources Planning System (ERP) experience (COPICS, Oracle, SAP)
  • Proficient with CAM / CAD software systems
  • Tool or process design experience
  • Corporate Leadership Training Program graduate: manufacturing, operations or engineering
