Role Summary/Purpose: The Lead Engineer, Gas Turbine Product Service will lead projects and initiatives with broad scope and high impact to the PGS business. This lead engineer will serve as a recognized expert in the GT services field. In this role you will be responsible for major and complex assignments with longterm business implications, manage complex issues within functional area(s) of expertise, and contribute to the overall business strategy, for customer success.
Essential Responsibilities: In addition you will:


  • Provide technology leadership for engineers for product design aspects of the assigned system
  • Resolve in depth, technical issues in GT technology for customers timely and efficiently
  • Assure all component designs meet requirements for customers
  • Support and coordinate with interfacing organizations such as manufacturing, sourcing, services operations, and design engineering, to fulfill customer needs
  • Support service programs, fulfillment, and New Product Introduction (NPI) programs
  • Provide strong guidance and contribution to DMP and design to cost projects
  • Communicate progress to all levels of the organization, including plant operators and executive leaders
  • Mentor and develop less experienced personnel
  • Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited College or University
  • Minimum 4 years of engineering experience
  • Minimum 2 years of gas turbine engineering experience or related technology
  • Additional Eligibility Qualifications: GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening. Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen.
    Desired Characteristics:
  • Significant rotor experience / working with rotor repair and life cycle management, or, significant hot gas path experience, or, significant combustion or operability experience
  • Prior experience in a customer facing role
  • Self-starter with initiative and interpersonal skills to direct projects and work, of crossfunctional nature, with demonstrated ability to drive projects to completion
  • Ability to work well with teams and communicate requests and requirements clearly
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Understands business objectives and drives specific tasks required to meet the objectives
  • Communicates the business vision effectively in an open and consistent manner
  • Displays good interpersonal skills - is accessible and approachable
  • Anticipates customer needs and ensures that they are met
